WHO IS ELIJAH RUSHING

Elijah Rushing is a five-star EDGE from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tuscon, AZ. The 6-foot-6-inch, 230-pound EDGE chose Oregon after decommitting from Arizona on October 8, 2023. Rushing is a five-star prospect according to 247 Sports while On3 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals have him listed as a four-star prospect. All four services have him listed as the #1 recruit in the state of Arizona.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE COMMITMENT FOR OREGON

The Ducks now have 24 commits for the 2024 class and have secured the #2 ranked class in the Big Ten and #6 nationally according to the On3 Sports recruiting rankings. Rushing is the second EDGE committed to Oregon, joining four-star Jaxson Jones, also from Arizona.

HOW QUICKLY CAN ELIJAH RUSHING CONTRIBUTE AT OREGON?

At Oregon, the Jack position is considered the EDGE rusher. On the depth chart. there are two true freshmen and one redshirt freshman behind the starter, senior Jordan Burch. Rushing will have to work hard to leap any of the three ahead of him for playing time.

SCOUTING ELIJAH RUSHING

Elijah Rushing is a tall, long EDGE rusher who can line up either in a three-point stance or as a standing rusher. He has good quickness and a really good dip move that gets him into the backfield. He is also effective with a bull rush against smaller linemen. When engaged he gets off blocks really well and is good in pursuit of runners. He has an 81-inch wingspan.
