WHO IS DYLAN RAIOLA?

Dylan Raiola is a five-star quarterback from Buford High School in Buford, GA. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound gunslinger chose Nebraska over Georgia. Raiola originally committed to Georgia on May 15, 2023, but he decommitted from the Bulldogs and flipped his commitment today to Nebraska. Raiola played baseball early in high school, playing catcher and pitcher. He was clocked as a freshman with an 89 MPH fastball. ESPN, 247Sports, and Rivals all have Raiola listed as a five-star prospect while On3 Sports lists him as a four-star.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE COMMITMENT FOR NEBRASKA

The commitment of Raiola gives Nebraska their 25th commitment for the 2024 class, now ranked sixth in the Big Ten and 22nd overall. Raiola is the second quarterback committed to Nebraska.

HOW QUICKLY CAN DYLAN RAIOLA CONTRIBUTE AT NEBRASKA?

The depth chart for quarterbacks at Nebraska has two sophomores and a junior. However, all three quarterbacks, Jeff Sims, Heinrich Haarberg, and Chuba Purdy struggled in 2023. Nebraska has not signed any quarterbacks via the transfer portal, so the chance of Raiola seeing the field next season is perfect. With Raiola’s commitment, expect at least one of the three quarterbacks on the roster to transfer out.

SCOUTING DYLAN RAIOLA

Dylan Raiola has a very good size for a quarterback and is tough to bring down. He has good mobility in the pocket and can move when needed to make a throw. He had better-rushing success in his senior year than his junior year, confirming that he is a legitimate threat to run with the ball. Big-time arm talent who has one of the better deep balls I’ve seen. His throws seem effortless, both when zipping a pass in as well as putting some touch on the ball. Raiola has the size, the arm, and the ability to step in and be a starter at a Power Five school, especially one that had three quarterbacks struggling last season.
