2024 FOUR-STAR LB MICHAEL BOGANOWSKI COMMITS TO OKLAHOMA SOONERS

WHO IS MICHAEL BOGANOWSKI

Michael Boganowski is a four-star linebacker from Junction City High School in Junction City, KS. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound senior is listed as a three-star prospect by On3, 247 Sports and ESPN while Rivals lists him as a four-star prospect.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE COMMITMENT FOR OKLAHOMA

The commitment of Boganowski gives Oklahoma their 26th 'commit' for the 2024 class, ranked sixth in the SEC and 10th overall. Boganowski is the second linebacker committed to Oklahoma. “Defensively, they plan on using me in lots of different ways,” Boganowski told On3, “like covering tight ends, blitzing at times, and playing inside the box in some formations.”

HOW QUICKLY CAN MICHAEL BOGANOWSKI CONTRIBUTE AT OKLAHOMA?

The depth chart for linebackers at Oklahoma is littered with youth, so seeing the field early will be challenging for Boganowski. Five of the six linebackers on the two-deep are underclassmen and all are contributing to the Oklahoma defense this season. However, Sooners head coach Brent Venables has shown a knack for playing younger players so it is not out of the question that he will get playing time early.

SCOUTING MICHAEL BOGANOWSKI

Michael Boganowski is a speedy linebacker who has good coverage skills. Boganowski has good closing speed, often getting to receivers shortly after their catch. His speed allows him to chase down runners as well. Boganowski’s tackling is sharp as he wraps up the ball carrier instead of trying to shoulder tackle. However, he does have big-hit capability and can tackle through a runner. He played safety and linebacker in his junior year where he finished with 123 tackles, four interceptions, one forced fumble, and three tackles for loss.
