2025 4-Star Tight End Nate Roberts Commits to The Ohio State University

Nate Roberts, a four-star tight end from Washington, Oklahoma, has announced he is committing to THE Ohio State University!

Who is Nate Roberts?

Nate Roberts is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound dual sport athlete playing tight end as well as baseball. He has three combined state championships throughout his high school career, one undefeated 2A state championship in football and back-to-back 3A state championships in baseball.

Nate Robinson had an early commitment back in 2023 where he was locked into Notre Dame but has since flipped to coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. He had a total of 39 offers (35 Power Four) including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Washington.

What impact does this commitment bring the Buckeyes?

This addition pushes Ohio State into first place for the 2025 recruiting class by gaining their seventh four-star player. Nate Roberts is also the first tight end picked up by OSU in this recruiting class.

How Quickly Can Nate Roberts Contribute at Ohio State?

After fan favorite, Cade Stover declared for the 2024 NFL draft Coach Day looked to the transfer portal where they picked up Will Kacmarcek from the in-state Ohio Bobcats. After this transfer pick-up, the Buckeyes have seven tight ends including three from the 2024 class along with one underclassman, Jelani Thurman who is a sophomore this season.

With Roberts' size, he can come in and steal reps early as he is bigger than nearly all the others in his position. With his size and aggressiveness in the air as well as on the line of scrimmage he should be getting light reps his freshman season strictly because of his youth and then in his sophomore season you should be seeing his playing time and stats rise while he forces his way into the two-three deep on the depth chart.

Nate Roberts is a big-bodied tight end who forces linebackers to beg for safety help while covering him. Roberts is an athletic 6-foot-4 and uses every bit of it to fight for every yard while he throws his would-be tacklers to the ground before stepping over them.

He is a vertical threat who is also very comfortable getting down and dirty on the line of scrimmage opening holes for his running back.
