Alvin Henderson, a four-star running back from Elba, Ala., announced that he's committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Thursday.
WHO IS ALVIN HENDERSON?
An Alabama product, Henderson set state records as a senior with 3,523 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns as a senior for Elba High School. Henderson led his high school to a 13-1 record in 2023 and an appearance in the Alabama Class 1A Semifinals.
The Class 1A Runningback of the Year ended the season as the No.8-ranked running back in the nation per 247Sports.
WHAT IMPACT DOES THIS COMMITMENT BRING THE NITTANY LIONS?
Henderson joins an already stacked recruiting class at the position for the blue and white, joining fellow four-star Kiandrea Baker and three-star Tiqwai Hayes in the 2025 class.
This also provides the Nittany Lions with their first top 100 commit in the ESPN 300 rankings.
HOW QUICKLY CAN HENDERSON CONTRIBUTE AT PENN STATE?
A big factor in Henderson's decision to choose Penn State was its recent development history at the running back position. That position currently features Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen, who both enter their third collegiate seasons.
If one or both of those players choose to declare for the NFL Draft following the 2024 season, Henderson has a chance to make his mark in Happy Valley as early as a sophomore.
The Alabama native chose the Nittany Lions over Georgia, Alabama and Auburn, among others.

Listed at 5-foot-9, Henderson showcased his quickness at the high school level complimented with the patience to create space for extra yards. He's showcased the ability to play in multiple different schemes at the next level.
Henderson has the potential to serve as a playmaker in college for multiple seasons as he joins a loaded Penn State backfield.
