WHO IS BRANDON LOCKHART?
Brandon Lockhart is a four-star cornerback from Loyola High School in Los Angeles, CA. The 6-foot-3-inch, 170-pound corner chose USC over Oregon and Penn State. Lockhart is listed as a four-star recruit by On3, 247 Sports and Rivals, he has no ranking by ESPN yet. He is listed as the #1 cornerback in the 2026 class by 247 Sports.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE COMMITMENT FOR USC
The Trojans now have two recruits listed as #1 at their position for the 2026 class, as Lockhart joins #1 quarterback Julian Lewis. Although it is very early in the recruiting process for 2026 recruits, USC has the #1 recruiting class both in the Big Ten and in the country.
HOW QUICKLY CAN BRANDON LOCKHART CONTRIBUTE AT USC?
With how USC’s defense has looked this season, Lockhart could probably make an impact this year if he was eligible! With 2026 so far away, and the transfer portal being a great friend to USC head coach Lincoln Riley, it is impossible to say exactly how fast Lockhart can contribute to USC.
SCOUTING BRANDON LOCKHART
Brandon Lockhart is a sophomore, and I had to keep reminding myself of this while watching his video. This kid plays like a senior who has been a four-year starter! He is good in coverage, he is fast and he has good closing speed. Lockhart sheds blockers well and is a good tackler for a cornerback. His speed is on display most when he is in pursuit of or chasing down runners. If he maintains this level of play for the next two years he will remain the #1 cornerback recruit in the country and will be considered one of the gems of the class.
