Four-star quarterback Brady Hart has committed to the University of Michigan. He is in the 2026 recruiting class. Hart chose Michigan over a competitive field of finalists including Ohio State, LSU and Clemson, giving the Wolverines a significant win in their ongoing recruitment efforts.

Who is Brady Hart

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 195 pounds, Hart hails from Cocoa, Fla., and is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation. Hart is ranked as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 92 overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite. With plenty of time to finish out his high school career, Hart has the potential to earn a five-star rating.

In his first year as a starter—his sophomore season—Hart led Cocoa High School to a remarkable 14-1 record and a Florida class 2S state championship. Demonstrating exceptional skill and poise, he completed 288 of 437 passes (65.9%) for 3,759 yards, amassing 41 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. His impressive performance has solidified his status as a top-tier recruit and a promising addition to Michigan’s future lineup.

Hart’s Impact

Hart’s commitment to Michigan will significantly impact the program. As the first pledge in the Wolverines’ 2026 recruiting class, he will spark a quarterback competition with promising talents like 2025 three-star commit Carter Smith and 2024 freshman Jadyn Davis. His early commitment is a major benefit for Michigan, providing a solid foundation for future recruiting and allowing the coaching staff to focus on other key targets.

Hart told On3 his decision to join Michigan was strongly influenced by the rapport he built with coach Sherrone Moore and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell. He said he admires the program's philosophy and the coaches' approach to the game, which make him feel at home and confident in Michigan's winning potential. Thus, Hart’s commitment not only strengthens the roster but also highlights the program’s appeal and the coaching staff's effectiveness in securing top-tier talent.

Although Hart will not arrive on campus for two years, his commitment signifies a significant addition to Michigan’s future roster. Expected to compete for a pivotal role in Michigan’s quarterback room alongside other talented recruits, Hart’s commitment sets the stage for an exciting era in Michigan football under Moore.
