Four-star DL TJ Lindsey Commits to the Auburn Tigers!

Who is TJ Lindsey?

TJ Lindsey is a composite 4-star defensive lineman from Bradenton, Florida. He stands at 6-foot-3 inches and 265 pounds. He picked the Auburn Tigers over Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Colorado on top of multiple other Power-Five teams. In 2021 Lindsey helped lead his Bryant High School to an Arkansas 7A State Championship. While at Bryant High School, Tj Lindsey was a two-sport athlete playing football and basketball. In basketball, he played power forward and center to utilize his strong, physical frame.

How can he impact Auburn?

This commitment is huge for the Auburn Tigers because this is going in and stealing a highly recruited player from the coaching behemoths of college football like Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, and Deion Sanders. This is only the second commit for the defensive line for the 2024 class, the first being three-star DL Malik Blocton. The Tigers currently have five defensive linemen that are seniors either starting or in the two-deep. And they have another three players that are juniors this season, so this is huge to be restacking for the future.

How quickly can TJ Lindsey contribute?

With so many players getting ready to graduate and continue their lifetime goals this opens up some opportunity for these incoming recruits like TJ Lindsey. He could be seeing immediate playing time once he gets on the plains. 2024-2025 will have a ton of young faces up front (unless veterans come in from the portal) and TJ could quickly become a very familiar name.

Scouting TJ Lindsey.

TJ is a shorter DE that makes up for his stature by being a very strong and physical player. TJ has a very high motor and refuses to quit on the play no matter where he is on the field. He can line up in both the three-point and four-point stance coming off the edge and has a mean bullrush but is also fast enough to dip in front of the face and even has a spin move he has brought out from time to time however is not a strength of his. TJ Lindsey is a hard hitter but always keeps his eyes in the backfield and is ready to knock the ball out of the air.
