The Alabama Crimson Tide and coach Kalen DeBoer have been on fire this summer with their recruiting.
They went out and secured 5 five-star commitments and their recruiting class ranks first in all of 2025.
Recruiting Rankings
According to On3 recruiting rankings, Ty Haywood was ranked as the seventh-highest recruit in the nation and the third-ranked offensive tackle. This is, along with the others, a solid pickup for Alabama.
Michael Carroll was ranked as the 12th-highest recruit in the United States and the No. 1-ranked offensive tackle. Caleb Cunningham was ranked the 14th-highest recruit in the nation and the second-ranked wide receiver. Dijon Lee was ranked as the 21st-highest recruit throughout the U.S. and the fourth-ranked cornerback. Keelon Russell was ranked as the 26th-highest recruit in the nation and the fifth-ranked quarterback.
Ty Haywood's Career
Haywood started his career as a defensive tackle when he grew up in Mississippi. When he moved to Denton, Texas, he moved to offensive tackle.
That switch changed Haywood's football life. Haywood soon found himself in a solid spot to be recruited.
Michael Carroll's Career
Carroll comes from a very famous family. Michael Carroll Sr., his father, also played football but at Penn State University. Letitia Carroll, his mother, played basketball at Michigan State and was a Hall of Famer for the Spartans. Carroll chose the Crimson Tide over Penn State, Michigan and Georgia .
Caleb Cunningham's Career
Cunningham actually wanted to be a basketball star growing up, but his mom convinced him to play football at a young age. In his freshman and sophomore years in high school, Cunningham managed to rack up 1,012 all-purpose yards and 6 touchdowns.
Dijon Lee's Career
Lee had a monster sophomore year in high school. He logged 35 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, and a blocked punt. His sophomore year ended in a California Interscholastic Federation championship game loss to St. John Bosco.
Keelon Russell's Career
Russell hails from Duncanville, Texas, and actually chose the Crimson Tide over SMU and Ole Miss. His arm and passing abilities have been compared to Jayden Daniels, who was drafted second overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft. Russell looks to move up Alabama's quarterback depth chart and make a name for himself.
These recruits should definitely help Alabama and DeBoer get back to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
