After trading Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon after another 1,000 rushing season the Cincinnati Bengals have signed former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss to a two-year, $8 million dollar contract. Moss just had his best season, totaling 794 yards on 183 carries along with 5 touchdowns in 2023.
why should Bengals fans be excited?
Moss was selected in the third round of the 2020 draft by the Buffalo Bills from the University of Utah. At Utah he broke six school records—career carries (712), career rushing yards (4,167), career 100-yard rushing games (18), career rushing touchdowns (38), career all-purpose plays (778) and career total touchdowns (41)—and tied for two more—career 200-yard rushing games (2) and season rushing touchdowns (15)—in his four years.
During his time with the Buffalo Bills, Moss gained 917 rushing yards, 319 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns over just three years. After being traded to the Colts before the 2022 season Moss was able to get 1,159 rushing yards, 204 receiving yards and an additional 8 touchdowns, all as a backup.
Zack Moss an Instant Contributor
With the upward trend he has been on and so many other offensive weapons that can open up opposing defenses, it is not crazy to think that Moss could be an instant, and big, contributor to this team for the next two or more seasons.
