Ohio State is not letting up on the recruiting trail as defensive line coach Larry Johnson has landed another commit for the defensive line in the class of 2025, as four-star prospect Trajen Odom announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Friday.

Odom will look to continue the tradition of development as he chooses to go to Columbus, Ohio, to be developed by one of the best position coaches in college football in Johnson.

In an interview with 247Sports, Odom said Ohio State is a school he can thrive at.

"Coach Johnson made it clear I'm their guy for the three-tech position," he said. "They think I'm an immediate impact guy to fill in for Tyleik (Williams) and I'm the guy to help complete their defense. Coach (Ryan) Day, he has his program positioned to win a national championship and I want to go to a program that is really going to win, plus develop me."

Scouting Trajen Odom

Odom is a 6-foot-4, 285 pound defensive lineman recruit from Matthews, N.C., where he plays at Weddington High School. Odom chose Ohio State over USC, Oregon, Alabama and UCLA. Odom is a two-year starter for Weddington where he totaled 54 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks and a forced fumble in 10 games his junior season.

Odom is ranked as the No. 40 defensive line prospect according to 247Sports and the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina.

Ohio State Stacks Defensive Front for 2025

For Ohio State, Odom is the 21st player to commit to the Buckeyes in the class of 2025. Ohio State continues all momentum forward for the class of 2025 and remains the No. 1 overall class according to 247Sports nationally. Odom is also the Buckeyes' 10th commitment in the mont of June and sixth in the last week.

For Odom, he joins a defensive line that includes Zion Grady, Zahir Mathis and London Merritt. Johnson and coach Ryan Day are clearly going all in for the class of 2025, as theBuckeyes expect the could lose at least three defensive linemen to the 2025 NFL Draft.
