The UCLA Bruins traveled to Corvallis, OR for an evening showdown between two promising defenses. However, the 3 interceptions and as many broken coverages (and a Beavers FG) would put Oregon State in control of handing the Bruins their second loss of the season.
GAME SUMMARY:
INTERCEPTIONS? You can’t turn the ball over three times like this and expect to win. Dante Moore again threw a first-series INT, shades of Utah, that didn’t sit well with Chip Kelly. UCLA found themselves down 13-0 at the end of the first quarter. Donte Moore threw his third pick, which was returned for a TD near the end of the second quarter to bring them into halftime down 23-10
OSU came out in the second half and continued to dominate the rushing game. Between an established rushing attack, continued blown coverages by UCLA, and a solid game plan, the Beavers took advantage of the UCLA secondary. I normally try to ‘lay off' the officials, but there was a personal foul called for a face mask in the third quarter, if subjected to a review, it would have been overturned in a heartbeat. Hope that official gets his check partially withheld.
Final score OSU 36 - UCLA 24
