Dawgs' Best bets - Pawing around with season win totals

Can you smell it in the air? The seasons are changing. The nights are becoming cooler. Students and teachers are readying themselves for the dawn of a new school year. College football is right around the corner! Here at College Football Dawgs we want to celebrate the new season by helping you add to the excitement on Saturday nights this Fall. We will provide you with the best selected picks each week to give you a leg up on Vegas. While we may give a few selections to the public each week, we will also provide the most up-to-date selections for our premier followers who subscribe to best bets and give them full access to interact with us each week. Without further ado here are just a few of the Dawgs Best over/under win totals on the season:

#5 - Pittsburgh Over 6.5 - This Pat Narduzzi squad will be solid top to bottom and has a solid chance of winning their first seven games. They finish the season against Syracuse, Boston College, and Duke. They miss Clemson in conference play and should have an easy road to seven wins.

#4 - UCF Over 6.5 - This choice may surprise some as UCF is beginning its first season in a Power Five conference. However, it may very well be that UCF is fighting for a spot in the Big 12 Championship game come November. UCF has three very winnable out-of-conference games to begin the season and does not draw Texas. Every game is winnable with 15 returning starter on a 9 win team just a season ago.

#3 - Vanderbilt Over 3.5 - The Commodores a lock on an over win total? Coach Lea is slowly building a real SEC program in Nashville. Though their stadium may not be finished by the beginning of the season, it seems September may be nice for the 'Dores. Vanderbilt could have this covered as soon as September 17th, as long as Vanderbilt can take care of the teams they should beat; which does include at Wake Forest against a now Sam Hartman-less Demon Deacons squad. Does Vandy make a bowl game this season?

#2 - West Virginia Under 5.5 - West Virginia will have a tough time getting to 6 wins and a bowl this year. This is one of the toughest schedules in the Big 12, as the Mountaineers play both Penn State and Pitt, in the out of conference slate. It is safe to say the nation will not be hearing any 'Country Roads' this bowl season?

#1 - South Alabama over 7.5 - This win total is entirely too low. If Vegas isn't a believer in the Jaguars, I for sure am! This team was a few tough breaks from a 12-0 record in 2022. They also return 18 starters from last season's team that went 10-3! Eight wins should be a breeze for a team that could very well represent the Group of Five in a New Years Six bowl this upcoming season.
