The Tennessee Titans made headlines late Friday night by trading for former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, sending a 2025 third-round pick and a 2024 seventh-round pick to Kansas City in exchange.

On top of the trade, Sneed and the Titans agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $76 million.

Sneed, 27, capped off his fourth season with the Chiefs who placed a franchise tag on him following the 2023 season.

This makes Sneed the second franchise-tagged player who has been traded this offseason joining Brian Burns who was traded by the Carolina Panthers to the New York Giants.

The Louisiana Tech product was a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams in Kansas City and was most known for his forced fumble of Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers in last season's AFC Championship game.

Sneed ends his tenure with the Chiefs with 303 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, 40 passes broken up and 10 interceptions.

With the Titans Sneed should slot in as the team's top cornerback as Tennessee and new head coach Brian Callahan continue to reload following a 6-11 season.

The Chiefs meanwhile get what will likely be a top-100 draft pick for Sneed who played a strong role in the team's secondary opposite Trent McDuffie.
