A blue-chip prospect from the Peach State is headed to Hollywood. Four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux announced his commitment to USC on June 26. Arnoux adds another piece to the Trojans' defense-oriented 2025 recruiting class.

After visiting USC on June 19 and 20, Arnoux chose the Trojans over Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee and other traditional college football powerhouse programs. He told Rivals he "loved the vibe" at USC and is excited about becoming an integral part of the Trojans' NFL-style defense. Furthermore, he said he believes playing for USC will prepare him for a career in the NFL.

Arnoux's Bio, Stats

Arnoux is 6-foot-2 and weighs 180 pounds. Rivals rates him as the No. 156 player in the 2025 class and the No. 16 cornerback. Yahoo Sports described Arnoux as "an elite cover corner." Scouts for the Tennesee Volunteers described Arnoux as "tall, long and athletic," noting that he is "very physical at the point of contact" and delivers "crushing blows" in the secondary.

In addition to playing football in high school, Arnoux is a standout performer in track and field events at the prep level.

USC's Recruitment of Arnoux

Arnoux gave major credit for his commitment to the Trojans' secondary coach Doug Belk and legendary former USC safety Taylor Mays, who was a first-team All-American for three consecutive years in the Pete Carroll era. Mays now serves as a defensive analyst for his alma mater. Arnoux pointed out that Belk has been recruiting him for years, beginning when Belk was the Houston Cougars defensive coordinator. He said he has a "genuine" relationship with Belk. He also gushed about the opportunity to learn from Mays and to be in the same "DB room" with him.

Teammate of Five-Star QB Julian Lewis

A unique aspect of Arnoux's commitment is his relationship with Lewis. Arnoux and Lewis are teammates at Carrollton (Ga.) High School. Per Rivals, Lewis is the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class. He has been committed to USC since August 2023.

The Trojans recently suffered a setback when two five-star athletes from Georgia de-commited. They desperately want to avoid losing another five-star commitment and believe Arnoux's decision will bolster their chances of keeping Lewis in the fold.
