The class of 2025 for Ohio State continues to grow as the Buckeyes land their 19th commitment of the class in four-star EDGE rusher Zion Grady.
Defensive line coach Larry Johnson and Ohio State continues to recruit at a high level on the defensive line to keep the "rushmen" tradition going in Columbus, Ohio.
Scouting Zion Grady
Grady comes from the backyard of the Alabama Crimson Tide being from Enterprise, Ala., and attends Enterprise High School. Grady is the No. 75 ranked overall recruit according to 247Sports and the No. 6 overall EDGE. The Buckeyes went into the heart of the south and got their third defensive lineman commit for the class of 2025 and continues to add the No. 1 overall class for 2025.
Grady, who was once committed to Alabama, shoe the Buckeyes over Florida State, Tennessee, Florida and Miami. He de-committed from Alabama following the departure of Alabama coach Nick Saban in January and also announced he was transferring to Enterprise High School.
Grady told On3 he was impressed by the Buckeyes during each of his visits.
“I’m really impressed with coach (Larry) Johnson’s attention to detail," he said. "He makes sure he covers every aspect. Getting around the players during the visit really made a strong impression on me.”
Grady is 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, and is a multi-sport athlete at his high school where he also plays basketball. Grady won Alabama 5A Lineman of the year in 2022 and in 2023 he finished his junior campaign with with 87 tackles, 11 sacks and an interception at Charles Henderson High School in Troy.
According to 247Sports National Recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna, Grady will be a solid addition to the Buckeyes in the defensive trenches.
"A quick twitch mover, the Alabama native relies heavily on his first step and foot and body quickness to gain leverage on opposing offensive linemen while flashing the speed to power ability to illustrate his physical pass rushing potential at the next level," said Petagna.
Grady will join Zahir Mathis and London Merritt on the defensive live, who had both previously committed to Ohio State for the 2025 recruiting cycle.
