Running back Dylan Edwards entered the transfer portal on April 24th, 2024, leaving Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffalos. By April 28th, 2024, Edwards has come back home to team up with his childhood friend Avery Johnson to play at Kansas State. Dylan Edwards has 3 years of eligibility remaining to play for Chris Klieman.
Who is Dylan Edwards?
Dylan Edwards is a freshman running back who decided to leave the University of Colorado to play closer to his home in Derby Kansas. In his freshman season in Boulder, he rushed for 321 yards, had 299 receiving yards, and 5 total touchdowns.
Kansas State beat out UCLA, Texas A&M, Kansas, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and Georgia in the portal recruiting process.
Impact on the Kansas State offense
Edwards will be a complete change of pace with DJ Giddens being a more powerful running back. The offense will be able to be more creative with two running back sets and even able to move Edwards around to different positions to allow the explosive playmaker the chance to get the ball in his hand. Dylan has elite speed and great vision when the ball is in his hands. More weapons with an offense that already had some good playmakers on it only makes Kansas State more of the threat come this fall.
Kansas State fans should be excited to have an elite playmaker join this team in Manhattan Kansas this fall. Even with the past with Dylan Edwards originally committing and decommitting with Kansas State out of high school if Chris Klieman and the Kansas State staff can put that behind them so should everyone else and enjoy having a great player join the squad.
