Four-star hybrid linebacker/edge rusher Keenan Britt, from Oxford, Ala., has committed to South Carolina's 2026 recruiting class. Britt is the younger brother of KJ Britt of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Characterizing Britt as an edge rusher, Rivals rates him as the No. 15 player nationally at that position in the 2026 cycle. Britt chose South Carolina after narrowing his decision down to the Gamecocks, Oregon, Auburn, Arkansas and Ole Miss.
Keenan Britt
Britt is heading into his junior season at Oxford (Ala.) High School. According to Rivals, he is 6-foot-2 and weighs 230 pounds. He credited head coach Shane Beamer and recruiting director Darren Uscher for his decision to commit to South Carolina. Uscher, who was the recruiting director at Oregon in 2023, participated in the Ducks' recruitment of Britt before helping the Gamecocks secure the commitment.
Because Britt's elder brother played for Auburn, the Tigers were a serious contender to land this commitment. However, Britt explained to Rivals his decision to select the Gamecocks: "It's all about the way me and my family feel. It doesn't matter how far away the school is. I want it to feel like home. That's what South Carolina is." He also said, "Coach Uscher just got there from Oregon and he has been recruiting me hard."
As a sophomore, Britt was named second-team All-State by the Alabama Sports Writers Association after helping lead his team to a 9-3 record and the second round of the playoffs in Class 6A of the Alabama High School Athletic Association. He made 107 tackles, including 17 tackles for loss and 8 sacks.
Gamecocks 2026 Class
Britt is the third prospect to commit to South Carolina's 2026 class, which On3 rates as the No. 12 class in the nation. This rating is a step up for Beamer and the Gamecocks, whose 2025 class is rated No. 26, Britt joins highly-regarded linebacker Rodney Colton in the 2026 class. On3 rates Colton as the No. 2 overall linebacker in the 2026 cycle.
