Just another day at the office for the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) as they took down Tennessee Tech (0-2) 48-3 on Sept. 7 in Athens, Ga. at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium. Head coach Kirby Smart continued doing what he does best, beating inferior opponents and keeping the foot on the gas pedal.

Game Summary

Quarterback Carson Beck started this game for the Bulldogs and he put up video game numbers against an FCS opponent.

He completed 18-of-25 passes for 242 yards and 5 touchdowns. Beck was replaced by backup Gunner Stockton because of the rout and Beck was no longer needed.

As for the Golden Eagles, nothing really went right for them. Their running game didn't get going and nothing worked in the passing game.

This one was a rout before it even got started as it was 14-0 Bulldogs after the first quarter. They never looked back.

Turning Point: Georgia

There was one play that really helped the Bulldogs' lead grow even more. Tennessee Tech already was down 31-0 in the third quarter when they were at their own 27-yard line. It fumbled the ball away.

Mere seconds later, Beck found Lawson Luckie for a 37-yard touchdown pass on the very next play. It put the Bulldogs ahead 38-0.

On Tennessee Tech's next drive, they went three-and-out and punted. Georgia drove the length of the field and scored again in 10 plays.

On that 10-play drive, Stockton got some reps as he threw the ball six times. But the drive finished as running back Branson Robinson scored a touchdown from 13 yards out.

What it Means

As for the Bulldogs, they continue to dominate opponents and make sure they don't fall into any trap games. In two games, they are outscoring their opponents 82-6 and have a 2-0 record to show for it. They are not letting up and making sure their opponents know it and hear them. In Week 3 on Sept. 14, they will travel to Lexington, Ky., to take on the Wildcats at Kroger Field at 7:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

As for the Golden Eagles, they didn't get any momentum or rhythm in today's game. In Week 4 on Sept. 21, they will host the Tennessee State Tigers at 2:30 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
