The Georgia Bulldogs look to continue their dominance and keep their No. 1 ranking when they meet the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in Athens, Ga. this weekend. The Bulldogs had no problem handling the Clemson Tigers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Week 1, 34-3. Georgia and Tennessee Tech will meet at 2 p.m. EST on Sept. 7 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.

What's at Stake?

The Bulldogs look to continue their run of first-half defensive shutouts to begin the year. In Georgia's opener against the Clemson Tigers, and their first two games last season, they pitched a first-half shutout. They look to continue that against Tennessee Tech.

The Golden Eagles look to earn their first win over an FBS team in the modern era after coming close in their opener against Middle Tennessee. Tennessee Tech almost pulled out the win but fell short 32-25.

Key Players: Georgia

Quarterback Carson Beck and running back Nate Frazier highlight the Bulldogs' offense.

Beck continues to put up good stats and did just that in the opener against Clemson. He completed 23 of 33 passes for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Frazier, who's a freshman and took over for suspended running back Trevor Etienne, had himself a game against the Tigers. He carried the ball 11 times for 83 yards and found the end zone 3 times. If Georgia wants to find success in the running game throughout the year, then Frazier is one to lean on.

Linebacker Jalon Walker and Safety Malaki Starks highlight the defense for the Bulldogs.

Walker was all over the field and constantly in the backfield against the Tigers. He had 3 tackles while assisting on 3 more tackles and came up with 1.5 sacks.

Starks has been a terrific player for the Bulldogs' defense, especially in opening games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He had 2 tackles to go along with a fantastic interception and made a similar interception against the Oregon Ducks in the 2022 season opener.

Key Players: Tennessee Tech

Quarterback Jordyn Potts and wide receiver Ashton Maples highlight the Golden Eagles' offense.

Potts played an exceptional game for the Golden Eagles' offense in a losing effort. He completed 27 of 38 passes for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Maples also had a really good game for the Golden Eagles on offense. He had 3 receptions for 57 yards and 2 of those 3 receptions were for touchdowns.

Defensive Back Caldra Williford and linebacker Aaron Swafford highlight the defense for the Golden Eagles.

Williford had quite an opening game. He had 5 tackles and assisted on 2 more to go along with an interception.

Swafford had 3 tackles, assisted on 5 more and added a sack, too.

Williford and Swafford look to continue to be the anchors for the Golden Eagles' defense.

Trends to Watch

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart looks to continue his unbeaten streak over active head coaches in the last five years.

The Golden Eagles look to pick up their first win against the Bulldogs in the season series as the Bulldogs are 2-0 against them.
