What's At Stake?

Both teams look to start the Sun Belt season strong with a win. Especially for Coastal, who expect to be in the hunt for the Sun Belt title, they need to start the conference schedule off strong.

Key Players - Georgia State

Georgia State: QB Darren Grainger and MLB Jontrey Hunter

Key players - Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina: QB Grayson McCall and FS Clayton Isbell

Key Matchups:

Georgia State passing game vs. Coastal Carolina secondary

Coastal Carolina passing game vs. Georgia State defense

Prediction:

As long as the Chanticleers can play the way they have been playing to start the season they should be able to come away with a win to start the Sun Belt season. Especially with this game being at Brooks Stadium there is no reason why the Chants shouldn't come away with the W on Thursday. The only matchup that could be problematic for Coastal is the running game against Georgia State's front seven. The running game for Coastal has been their weakness offensively thus far this season and the linebackers are the strength for the Panther's defense. This should not be enough to change the outcome, however. Final score: 42-17 Coastal.
