The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and head coach Brent Key have reeled in another big fish in the 2025 recruiting class. According to On3Recruits, the Yellow Jackets landed 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman Christian Garrett. Garrett had been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs but decided to flip his commitment. His recruitment was led by Yellow Jackets offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner.

Garrett in High School

Garrett went to high school in Bogart, Ga., at Prince Avenue Christian School. All throughout his high school tenure, he was shedding blocks easily and getting into the backfield, and tackling runners for a loss of yardage. He was a good defender against the run and was closing gaps almost immediately after the ball was snapped.

Garrett joins an already stacked recruiting class that the Yellow Jackets have put together for the 2025 season. According to 247Sports, the Yellow Jackets 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 19 in the nation and has 23 total commits.

The recruiting class contains one five-star, three four-stars—including Garrett—and 19 three-stars.

SI Recruiting Analyst Najeh Wilkins offered insight on how well Garrett has been performing in high school.

"Garrett has continued to improve each year he has been a for the Wolverines program," Wilkins said. "He finished his sophomore season with 56 tackles, 7 quarterback hurries, 5 sacks and 3 tackles for loss. He improved those numbers in his junior season finishing with 86 tackles, 15 quarterback hurries, 9 tackles for loss and 5 sacks, per MaxPreps. On the Wolverines' run to the state championship, Garrett had a monster game in the semifinals against Bryan County. In that game, he had 10 tackles (season high) and 2 tackles for a loss (season high)."

Wilkins also said that Garrett usually plays his best football late in the season and still has great games come postseason time as well.
