This will be the second time that the Hokies and The Boilermakers meet on the gridiron. The first time was September 19th, 2015 in West Lafayette Indiana. Virginia Tech came with a blowout win 51-24. Will this game be a different story? We shall Saturday at high noon:

Broadcasting information:

TV: Sept 9 on ESPN 2

Purdue coverage

What's at stake?

This is an interesting game on paper. Purdue comes in with a New Coaching Staff, a new QB, and a patched-together offensive line. On the other hand, the Hokies are coming off of an emotional win over ODU. Can the Hokies keep it up against a stronger opponent this week? Both teams are pretty equal in terms of talent. In my opinion, the Hokies need to find a way to win this game it just seems that they have something to prove.

The Virginia Tech Defensive line can do better against the run.

The Virginia Tech Offensive Line they have to hold their blocks longer

Purdue offensive line has to keep the Hokies pass rush at bay.

Prediction:

For the Hokies to win this game, they will have to play with the same fire as they did against ODU. Also try their best to play mistake-free football, keep the penalties low, and have no turnovers. If the Hokies don't do what I mentioned above Purdue is a good enough team to make them pay. Purdue will play hard but with all of the new staff and playing in a hostile environment Virginia Tech pulls out a close win over Purdue 31-24.
