Kansas State entered this game with questions on who was going to play quarterback. The answer by Head Coach Chris Klieman and Offensive Coordinator Collin Klein was, both guys. Will Howard and Avery Johnson started on the field on the first play with a sweep handed off by Howard to Johnson. After that first play, both quarterbacks switched drives for the rest of the game and the offense exploded all night. 587 yards of total offense with 343 of those on the ground against the Horned Frogs.

TCU entered the game coming off of a blowout win over BYU 44-11 last week looking to turn the corner. Freshman Quarterback threw for 439 yards with 4 touchdowns. K-State defense was prepared for the freshman QB this week allowing him to throw for 187 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Game MVP(s)

The combination of the quarterbacks for Kansas State gets the MVP for this game. Will Howard and Avery Johnson combined for 244 yards and 4 touchdowns in the air. The two Quarterbacks also combined for 135 yards on the ground on 20 carries. Avery got to do more of the running and Will got to do more of the passing, but they both did enough to make the offense look like a well-oiled machine.

What is next for K-State?

K-State gets another home game next week against Houston with an 11 am central kickoff on ESPN2.

TCU goes on the road to Texas Tech next week kicking off at 6 pm central time on FS1.
