North Carolina State (1-1) faces off against Louisiana Tech (1-0) at noon EST on Sept. 14. The Wolfpack hosts the Bulldogs in Raleigh, N.C., at Carter Finley Stadium. NC State hopes to bounce back after a drubbing from Tennessee in its previous game. Louisiana Tech hopes they've gotten healthy over their early bye week.

What's at Stake?

It was an offseason full of hype for the Wolfpack. But the hype train went off the rails after NC State met the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee obliterated NC State 51-10. The Vols embarrassed the Wolfpack on both sides of the ball, racking up 460 total yards on offense and holding NC State to 143 total yards. NC State hopes to right its path against Louisiana Tech.

The Bulldogs won their opener against Nicholls 25-17, but lost starting quarterback Jack Turner to injury. Luckily, they got to roll right into a bye week and Louisiana Tech expects Turner to return.

Player to Watch: NC State

It's quarterback Grayson McCall. It has to be. The former three-time Sun Belt Conference player of the year and Coastal Carolina transfer was expected to elevate the Wolfpack offense.

So far, the results have been mixed. McCall has thrown for 422 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Only 104 of those yards came against Tennessee. McCall has plenty to prove going forward.

Player to Watch: Louisiana Tech

Obviously, it's always easy to go with the quarterback. But it makes sense. Jack Turner was injured in the first contest against Nicholls after only passing for 70 yards. The Bulldogs hope that the bye week was enough to get the starting QB healthy.

What to Watch

The Wolfpack is a 21.5-point favorite over the Bulldogs. Look for McCall and the offense to find their rhythm against Louisiana Tech.

The Bulldogs should be outmatched, but if NC State can't get their offense going, then Louisiana Tech will be able to keep the game close.
