Coach Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners received a commitment from a uniquely talented four-star defensive lineman. Floyd Boucard was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He grew up playing hockey but, after moving to the United States and taking up football as a high school freshman, he quickly became one of the most coveted defensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Boucard chose Oklahoma over Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, USC and other leading programs that extended offers to him.
The principal representatives of the Sooners responsible for Boucard's recruitment were defensive line coach Todd Bates and co-defensive coordinator Jay Valai.
Four-Star Canadian
Boucard is 6-foot-3 and weighs 315 pounds. In the words of 247Sports, he is a "spry mover" for his size. He has a low center of gravity and "goes hard from snap to whistle and will make a difference with his secondary effort." He is "quick to fire out of his stance and draw his hands."
When he came to the U.S., he originally resided in Mobile, Ala., and played for Mobile Christian High School. He has transferred to Miami Central High School for his senior year. During his junior year at Mobile Christian, he played various positions along the defensive line in a variety of different defensive sets. However, scouts report that his greatest potential at the collegiate level is as a nose tackle in a 4-3 formation. Boucard excels at filling gaps and collapsing pass-protection pockets. He was a key contributor to his team's undefeated season, culminating in the Alabama High School Athletic Association class 3A title. He made 85 tackles, including 27 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.
After his junior season, Boucard made an impressive showing at an Under Armour Next camp, demonstrating excellent lateral quickness and overall tenacity. He projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Four level.
Sooners Booming
Boucard is the 19th four-star recruit to join Oklahoma's 2025 class. He is the second four-star defensive lineman in the class, joining Maryland native Trent Wilson.
As Oklahoma embarks on its inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference, Venables and his staff are building an impressive roster. With Boucard's commitment, the Sooners boast the No. 11 class in the 2025 cycle and the No. 6 position in the SEC.
