The fourth quarter featured strong defensive stands from both teams, and Ole Miss left Columbia with a much needed 27-3 victory.

What It Means: Ole Miss

The Rebels get their first SEC win of the season, showcasing their defensive capabilities by holding the Gamecocks to just a field goal. Ole Miss put up 425 total yards of offense, but star wide receiver Tre Harris left the game with an injury and did not return. The Rebels will now prepare to face No. 13 LSU (4-1, 1-0) on the road in Baton Rouge, La., on Oct. 12.

What It Means: South Carolina

The Gamecocks struggled on offense despite possessing the ball longer than Ole Miss. South Carolina committed eight penalties that resulted in 80 yards and turned the ball over twice. South Carolina will need to put this loss behind them as they go on the road to take on No. 1 Alabama (4-1, 1-1) in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Oct. 12.
