While the Rebels of Ole Miss brought in a haul of high-quality players through the transfer portal, they will be without an important piece of their offense in 2024. Quinshon Judkins announced his intention to enter the transfer portal as he intends to take his talents elsewhere. The team's leading rusher the past two seasons, Judkins has tallied 2,723 yards for the Rebels.
Quinshon Judkins: A Rare Back...
Judkins proved a reliable runner as well as a good receiver. He has a good combination of speed and power and uses both quite well. He is a downhill violent runner with the speed to beat defenders to the outside or to run through traffic between the hashes. He's a dangerous playmaker in catch-and-run situations where he can utilize his speed and strength to separate from defenders.
Earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2022 after rushing for 1,565 yards and 16 touchdowns quickly made Judkins a household name. He followed up his Freshman of the Year honors with an equally impressive sophomore campaign, finishing with 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. He also added two scores as a receiver in 2023. In 2023, he was more a part of a duo with senior Ulysses Bentley IV sharing time with him in the backfield. He entered rare company as the first running back to score 15+ touchdowns in each of his first two seasons since Herschel Walker.
Where Will Quinshon Go Now?
Originally gaining offers from a variety of big-name programs like Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan, Louisville, Mississippi State, Penn State, FSU, Florida, Miami (FL), and Notre Dame, he is expected to garner at least the same interest level once he officially enters the transfer portal. The native of Pike Road, Alabama is expected to have two seasons of eligibility left for his new school.
With his playstyle, Penn State, Michigan, Florida State, and Notre Dame all look like options that would benefit from Judkins' services. Stay tuned to collegefootballdawgs.com as more information becomes available.
