The 2024 season is dwindling and the race for the top of the Southeastern Conference is as muddled as ever. The top four teams all sit at one conference loss a piece, and there are five teams on the second tier that only have two conference losses a piece. The top spot is up for grabs and has been a game of musical chairs all season. No. 4 Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1) is the latest leader in the clubhouse to rotate out of the top spot after falling to South Carolina (5-3, 3-3) in Week 10. The room for error is shrinking for teams looking for an SEC Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance.

No. 1 Georgia (7-1, 5-1 SEC)

The No. 3 Bulldogs return to the top of these power rankings after defeating the rival Florida Gators (4-4, 2-3) in the World's Largest Cocktail Party, 34-20. Quarterback Carson Beck threw 3 interceptions. Again. Time for concern, Georgia fans? Beck looks to get right against a stout No. 16 Ole Miss team (7-2, 3-2) in Week 11.

No. 2 Texas (7-1, 3-1)

The No. 4 Longhorns are coming off a Bye week after surviving Vanderbilt (6-3, 3-2) in Week 9, and will host the Gators in Week 11.

No. 3 Tennessee (7-1, 4-1)

The No. 7 Volunteers played the Kentucky Wildcats (3-6, 1-6) in Week 10 and defeated them 28-18. The 'Cats led 10-7 at halftime, but the Vols scored 21 second-half points to secure the victory. Next up for the Vols is the Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-7, 0-5).

No. 4 Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1)

Classic A&M. Of course they drop the game to South Carolina. Standard Aggie procedure. Be talented, give the fanbase hope, fall on face. Rinse and repeat. It's year in and year out. The Aggies will get to sit at home and think about what they've done in Week 11.

No. 5 Alabama (6-2, 3-2)

The No. 11 Crimson Tide are coming out of a Bye week after smacking around the No. 24 Missouri Tigers (6-2, 2-2) in Week 9. Up next is a pivotal matchup with the No. 15 LSU Tigers.

No. 6 LSU (6-2, 3-2)

The Tigers are coming off their own Bye week and get Bama at home and at night. It's a major matchup with conference and College Football Playoff implications.

No. 7 Ole Miss (7-2, 3-2)

The No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels have stumbled on offense over the past few weeks but seemed to really find themselves as they hung 63 points on Arkansas (5-4, 3-3) in Week 10. The Rebels will get a chance to prove they got their ducks in a row when Georgia comes to town.

No. 8 Vanderbilt (6-3, 3-2)

Vandy became bowl-eligible for the first time since 2018 after they beat the Auburn Tigers (3-6, 1-5) in Week 10. Quarterback Diego Pavia said that's not the Commodores' ultimate goal as they have their sights set on a College Football Playoff birth. It's not out of the question. The 'Dores have an opportunity for more quality wins with South Carolina, LSU and Tennessee left on the schedule.

No. 9 South Carolina (5-3, 3-3)

South Carolina punched A&M in the mouth to start the game and never let up. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is a budding star in the league, putting up 350 total yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory over the Aggies. Stud QBs face off in Nashville, Tenn. as Sellers and the Gamecocks travel to face Pavia and Vandrtbilt.

No. 10 Missouri (6-2, 2-2)

The No. 24 Tigers sat at home to lick their wounds in Week 10 after being shut out by the Tide. Mizzou has struggled in the injury department. Quarterback Brady Cook is still dealing with an injury suffered against Auburn and aggravated against Alabama. He is listed as questionable ahead of the Week 11 matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners (5-4, 1-4).

No. 11 Arkansas (5-4, 3-3)

The Razorbacks head into a Bye after the throttling by Ole Miss. Arkansas has been a team of silver linings in 2024. There wasn't much positive to take from that game. The Hogs will face Texas when they return to action in Week 12.

No. 12 Florida (4-4, 2-3)

The Gators led the Bulldogs at halftime despite losing quarterback DJ Lagway in the second quarter to a hamstring injury. Georgia scored 28 second-half points to close out the Gators. Florida travels to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns. If Lagway plays, then the game could be interesting. If he doesn't, then it will be a snoozer by half.

No. 13 Oklahoma (5-4, 1-4)

Oklahoma found their offense against the Maine Bears ( 4-5, 2-3 Colonial Athletic Association) of the FCS. The Sooners will get to see if that rhythm can carry over against SEC competition as they travel to face the Missouri Tigers in Week 11.

No. 14 Kentucky (3-6, 1-6)

It hasn't been the season the Wildcats were hoping for. UK gets some reprieve as they have a Bye week in Week 11 and face Murray State (1-8, 0-6 Missouri Valley Conference) the week after.

No. 15 Auburn (3-6, 1-5)

Yet again, the Tigers refused to hand the ball off to running back Jarquez Hunter more than 12 times. Yet again, it resulted in a Tigers loss. Hunter's lack of usage is criminal. Auburn fans are probably grateful for the break from screaming that point as their team heads into a Bye in Week 11.

No. 16 Mississippi State (2-7, 0-5)

The Bulldogs secured only their second victory of the season when they beat UMass (2-7) in Week 10. There have been some positives for the Bulldogs outside of the win column, like freshman QB Michael Van Buren Jr., who threw for 222 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Mississippi State will have to look pretty hard for some positives when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn. in Week 11.
