The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs, the No. 16 LSU Tigers, and the No. 7 Missouri Tigers all faced a possible loss in their Week 3 matchups, but all three of them prevailed with wins. The Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) took on the Kentucky Wildcats (1-2, 0-1) on the road and won by one, the LSU Tigers (2-1, 1-0) took on the South Carolina Gamecocks (2-1, 0-1) and won by three, and the Missouri Tigers (3-0) took on the Boston College Eagles (2-1) and won by six.

Georgia Wins a Nailbiter

The former No. 1-ranked Bulldogs came into this game looking to ride momentum after winning their last two matchups pretty easily. They defeated No. 21 Clemson by 31 and Tennessee Tech by 45. But that momentum did not shift into this game as they barely escaped Lexington, Ky., with a one-point win.

The main reason that the Bulldogs struggled in this one, was the fact that they generally could not get their offense going the whole entire game. The defense also faced the tough task of being on the field more often than not, but was able to bend but not break and keep the Wildcats to field goals only.

Eventually when the Bulldogs got the running game going as running back Branson Robinson scored the only touchdown of the game, and helped the Bulldogs squeak by with a victory.

LSU Wins in a Thriller

The Tigers came into this game looking to build off of their recent win over the Nicholls State Colonels 44-21 in Week 2. This one was a battle till the very end with the Tigers coming back from deficits of 17-0 and 33-29, to win this in a dogfight 36-33.

Gamecocks' kicker Alex Herrera missed a 49-yard field goal at the buzzer to try to send this the game to overtime, but the kick sailed wide left.

The Tigers also got some help midway through the game as Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers got hurt and did not return to the game.

The Gamecocks probably upset the Tigers in this one if Sellers does not get hurt, but the Tigers escaped Columbia with this one and improved to 2-1 on the season.

Missouri Wins in a Classic

The Tigers came into this game coming off of back-to-back shutouts in Weeks 1 and 2, outscoring their opponents 89-0.

The Tigers came back from a 14-3 deficit at home, behind stellar performances from quarterback Brady Cook and running back Nate Noel, to beat the Eagles 27-21 to improve to 3-0 on the season. Cook was 21-of-30 for 264 yards and a touchdown, and Noel had 22 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown.

The Tigers were able to control the game and win a classic against Eagles' head coach Bill O'Brien and quarterback Thomas Castellanos.

All these SEC teams look to continue their hot starts to the season as Week 4 approaches on Sept. 21. The LSU Tigers are at home against the UCLA Bruins (1-1, 0-1 Big Ten Conference), the Bulldogs head into their bye week, and the Missouri Tigers host the Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1) at home.
