Unsurprisingly, sources close to the situation have told College Football Dawgs that QB Caleb Williams intends to complete his collegiate career today against long-time cross-town rival UCLA, with an official announcement to come later in the month, sometime after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances (i.e., injury, etc.), it appears Caleb Williams is poised to be the Trojan's sixth all-time first-overall draft pick, which would break a three-way tie with Notre Dame and Ohio State for the most first-overall draft picks in NFL Draft history.
Williams transferred to USC from Oklahoma, following Head Coach Lincoln Riley. In his collegiate career, Williams has recorded 9,698 passing yards, 92 passing touchdowns, & 13 interceptions. Additionally, he has a 1-1 bowl record, which includes an Alamo Bowl win against Oregon and a Cotton Bowl loss to Tulane.
Caleb Willaims won the 2022 Hesiman Memorial Trophy, which is given to:
"College footballs most outstanding player whom best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, hard work."
Williams became USC's 8th all-time Heisman Trophy winner (most all-time in college football).
He earned several other awards such as the 2022 Maxwell Award (College Football Player of the Year), the 2022 Walter Camp Award (College Football Player of the Year), the 2022 AP College Football Player of the Year, 2022 PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous all-American in 2022.
Willaims has been chosen as a semi-finalist for the 2023 Maxwell Award and the 2023 Davey O'Brien Award for this season.
The USC Trojans host the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, November 16 at 12:30 PM PT. This will be the 93rd matchup between these two teams.
