The new regime is now in place in Syracuse with the signing of former Georgia DB coach Fran Brown. Brown is widely regarded as the best recruiter in college football, with the results from his transfer class already showing his talent as a recruiter. Signing Fran Brown places Syracuse Orange as the team to Watch in the ACC in 2024.

Syracuse had given many Orange fans hope after starting the season 4-0. The wheels fell off the wagon after suffering a 31-14 loss to Clemson inside the JMA Wireless Dome. They followed that up with three road losses to North Carolina 40-7, Florida State 41-7, and Virginia Tech 38-10. The Orange returned home and would lose to Boston College 17-10.

Arguably the weirdest game to date was the Nov. 11th game in Syracuse vs Pittsburgh. It resulted in a 28-13 win for Syracuse, with the home team only throwing the ball nine times. Syracuse would rush the ball 65 times for 392 yards. Syracuse Coach Dino Babers had said it wasn't based on QB Garrett Shrader's health, however. The following week, Shrader would miss the road game at Georgia Tech. The Monday following the Georgia Tech game, Coach Dino Babers was relieved of his command after 8 years on the job.

"I am incredibly proud to be leading Syracuse Football at a university with a rich and storied tradition of academic and athletic excellence," Brown said in a press release. "Syracuse Football has outstanding talent, great facilities, and passionate alumni. The success of the players is my No. 1 priority—on and off the field. I want my guys to succeed in life because they played football at Syracuse. My immediate area of focus is building relationships with my current players and putting together an elite staff, while also having fun on the recruiting trail. I'm ready to get to work and look forward to building something special for our fans."

Brown, 41, is considered one of the best recruiters in the nation. In Georgia's top-ranked 2024 recruiting class alone, Brown helped land five-star DB Ellis Robinson IV, five-star LB Justin Williams, and four-star DB Demello Jones, among others. Brown ranks as the No. 1 national position group recruiter, according to 247Sports.
