Virginia Tech Mid-Season report

Year #2 for Brent Pry has started with the Virginia Tech Hokies. There has been some ups and downs for sure with this team. Currently Virginia Tech finds themselves at 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the ACC. When you look at that you think the Hokies are in for another bad season, However with the remaining 5 teams on their schedule, there is no game you can point to and say that's an 'L' for sure. The remaining schedule has Syracuse, Louisville, Boston College, NC State and Virginia. The only 'L' I could see would be to Louisville. If the Hokies go 4-1 in the last 5 games that would put the Hokies at 7-5 on the year and also would bring a mid-tier ACC bowl for the Hokies. I believe this is possible as this could be the season that makes or breaks the Brent Pry era at Virginia Tech.

Chart

Taking a look, at the ACC standings above, Virginia Tech finds themselves in a pretty good spot. Technically, Virginia Tech could still go to the ACC title if they were to go 5-0, that would put the Hokies at 8-4 overall and 7-1 in the ACC.

Hokie nation has been electric over the last 3 games, winning 2 out of 3. In my opinion Hokie Nation owes a big thank you to Kyron Drones as he has filled in for the injured Grant Wells. Honestly, Drones has played well enough to take the starting quarterback role for the rest of the season. Drone's stats through the 5 games he has started are 87/150 passing for 1,042 yards and 6 touchdowns and only 1 interception. There is still a lot of football left to be played, this should be very interesting over the next 5 games.
