Coach Josh Heupel and his Tennessee Volunteers remain red hot on the recruiting trail. On Aug. 18, the Vols flipped consensus four-star linebacker Jaedon Harmon, who had been committed to Alabama. Harmon pledged one day after Tennessee secured a commitment from five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr.
Harmon hails from Rome, Ga. The primary Tennessee representative responsible for his recruitment was Vols linebackers coach William Inge. Rated by On3 as the No. 13 linebacker and the No. 129 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, Harmon had been committed to Alabama since April.

At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Harmon has been a dominant defender at the prep level. Playing for Rome (Ga.) High School, he helped his team attain an 11-2 record and a deep playoff run in 2023. He concluded his junior season with 80 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 5 quarterback sacks, 5 quarterback hurries, 3 pass breakups and 1 interception. He was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-State team.
In a recent interview, Harmon spoke glowingly about Inge: "He just has a great personality," Harmon said. "I love being around him and talking to him. He is really a football genius to be honest with you. He knows what he is doing and you can just look at his pedigree and where he has been. He’s a great coach."
