Week 2 of the college football season is in the books. After last week's games that were full of upsets and close calls, it is time to look at who climbed in the polls and who fell. Who were the movers and shakers in the College Football Dawgs Top 25 when the smoke had settled?

Top 5

There wasn't much of a shakeup in the top five. Georgia (1) remained No. 1 with 22 first-place votes. Texas (2), who had the biggest win in the top 25, jumped past Ohio State (3) from the previous week to No. 2, pushing the Buckeyes to No. 3. Alabama (4) and Ole Miss (5) swapped spots, putting the Tide at four and the Rebels at five. This gave the Southeastern Conference four of the CFBD Top 25 poll's top five teams.

Teams 6-15

Well, this is where most of the shakeups in the polls happened this week. Missouri (6) jumped to sixth after another convincing performance, beating Buffalo (1-1) 38-0. This moved the Tigers from the ninth to the sixth spot, followed by another SEC team. The Tennessee Volunteers (7) moved from 13th to seventh after routing an at-the-time top 25 team in North Carolina State (1-1). This gives the SEC six of the top seven teams heading into Week 3.

USC (11) moved up three spots to No. 8 after their first shutout since the 2011 season. Miami (10) followed the Trojans, with the Oregon Ducks (9) rounding out the top 10 after a close victory over a very game Boise State team.

Penn State (8) fell from No. 6 to 11th after struggling to beat Bowling Green. Utah (12), Oklahoma State (13), Kansas State (14), and Oklahoma (15) round out the top 15. Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Oklahoma had their struggles, but all managed to come away with victories over the weekend.

Teams 16-25

The defending national champion Michigan Wolverines (17) took a beating at the hands of the Longhorns and fell to the 16th spot. Clemson (22) and LSU (16) bounced back with wins to stay in the top 20, followed by Louisville (19), making its first appearance in the CFBD Top 25 in the 19th spot.

Arizona (20) stood fast in the 20th spot after a tougher-than-expected game with Northern Arizona. Another team following the Wildcats, making their first appearance of the season to the poll, is Iowa State (21). The Cyclones knocked off their in-state rival Iowa to secure the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Notre Dame (18) had its worst season loss so far after paying Northern Illinois $1.4 million to come to South Bend, Ind. The Irish dropped to 22nd. Nebraska (23) hops in at 23rd after knocking off Coach Prime and his Colorado Buffaloes. Boston College (24) came in at 24th, while Illinois (NR) rounds out the top 25 after knocking off previously ranked Kansas.

Top 25 Overview

The season has just begun and the shakeups have already started. This will be a different year in college football because an early season loss outside your conference can't technically derail your opportunity to make it to the College Football Playoff. Even though Michigan took it on the chin at the hands of Texas, the Wolverines can still win the Big Ten Conference and make it to the playoff. A loss may pressure you to win the conference due to the remaining open slots.

The upcoming weeks will be full of intrigue and more upsets as the conference season ramps up. The top 25 will likely continue to change, especially with the SEC teams, as they begin to cannibalize each other with highly ranked matchups.
