Cody Slovensky has over 10 years of media experience. He started his journey with Bleacher Report in 2010 covering Mixed Martial Arts. He began as a contributor but quickly moved to a Featured Columnist role that led him to travel to multiple UFC events to cover events and interview fighters. After two years of fun and hard work, Cody decided that he wanted to work for himself and Universal Combat News was created. During this time, Cody obtained a Marketing Degree from a very small school and learned about graphic design. From top to bottom, Cody built Universal Combat News and averaged over 5,000 site visits per day. After about three years he sold his rights to the site and name and decided to do freelance work. During that time Cody did work for MMAInterviews.tv, ESPN, UFC, AL.com and other small organizations. In 2016, he got married and decided to focus more on his 9-5 and starting a family. At that point Cody decided to be a sports fan rather than a member of the media. After many years as an admin for the Facebook group College Baseball Smack, "Vandy" Chris Kuehnhold convinced Cody to start a podcast with him called The Golden Broom Show and the love for media began to come back. Once George Hancock joined the show, everything came together and Cody decided that working in sports media was his true calling.
