Chris was born and raised in southwest Iowa. He grew up watching Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, and Northern Iowa. One could call him an Iowa fan. After graduation from HS, Chris served 3 years in the USMC before planting in southern middle Tennessee. He became a Vanderbilt fan in 1990 and is a proud member of the Vanderbilt Sidewalk Alumni-fans of the school that literally have zero connection to the school. The father of 5 and grandfather of 5, Chris lives with his fiance' Marla and both lead a life very active in the addiction recovery community. With a boyhood dream to be a writer for Sports Illustrated, he now has an opportunity to expand on a talent for writing and a love for sports of all kinds.
